Abigail is devastated after her wedding was ruined when her fiancé never arrived and she was left with debt from taking a loan for the ceremony.
Abigail revealed to Auntie Naa on Oyerepa TV how the day that should have brought her the most joy ended up becoming the most unfortunate event of her life.
George and Abigail first connected on Facebook and soon started dating. They immediately became close and started spending most of their time together. George, who said he was a pastor, then asked Abigail to marry him. He admitted to her that he couldn’t afford to cover the costs of the wedding.
Since she so badly wanted to be with George, Abigail confided in her mother and sought her help. Her mother convinced her to take out a loan because George promised to pay it back once they were married.
“I trusted him.” Abigail added that George had assured her repeatedly of his feelings for her.
All the arrangements had been made, and people were already gathering when the wedding was supposed to begin. But something felt off. Unable to reach George, Abigail learnt that he had gone missing.
As George kept ignoring her calls, Abigail began to realize that he had abandoned her plan for a future together.
“I waited for him to reply, but he never did. That’s when I realized I’d been duped.“
She soon learnt that George was secretly engaged to another woman and never had any intent to wed her. The expected joy of the occasion had quickly been replaced by pain and financial ruin.
