Now they are facing another strong side in Africa, Senegal who has never won this tournament, in the final of the 2022 edition on Sunday.
Egypt is currently on top with 8 AFCON titles and will be looking for a record-extending eighth AFCON title. Senegal on the other hand will fight very hard to win this year after losing the 2019 final to Algeria.
