Sad news hits Chelsea fans even though they have returned to winning ways during the weekend. Seeing their striker finding the net and Enzo Fenendez’s encouraging performance, Chelsea’s coach Enzo Maresca still has a number of new injury blows to deal with.
The sad news lies in the disappearance of their captain and right back, Recce James. After returning form a long injury, Recce James has suffered another hamstring injury. The head coach spoke about this.
“Unfortunately he felt something small and we don’t want to take any risks this weekend. He’s the only one who for sure is unavailable this week. It’s a hamstring. It’s a muscle problem. We don’t want to take any risks for this weekend.”
Not only for Recce James, Chelsea is also faced with Pedro Neto absence as he has reportedly picked up an injury during the international break with Portugal. Enzo Maresca confirmed.
“Pedro, he had a problem with his international team. There was a chance he could be with us but we didn’t take any risks for this game and, hopefully, he can be available for the next game.”
Even thought the return date of Chelsea’s captain is unknown, Pedro Neto is expected to return before the conference league match on Thursday against Heidenheim. Malo Gusto also missed the Leicester game due to illness and is also expected to return for the conference league match on Thursday, 28th November, 2024.
