After losing 2-1 to Chelsea in the Premier League, Steve Cooper has been sacked, and Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to become Leicester City’s new manager.
The Dutch football manager will seek to continue the encouraging performance from his recent spell at Manchester United as an interim coach. Having won 3 matches and earned a draw against Chelsea, he left the club as Ruben Amorim has arrived. He led Manchester United to a 5–2 win over Leicester City in the EFL Cup. Van Nistelrooy also led his club to their first European win in 13 months with a 2–0 victory against PAOK.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was initially appointed as an assistant coach on a two-year contract under Erik ten Hag.
In his final game in charge, he oversaw a 3–0 league win over Leicester City. Upon the arrival of new head coach Ruben Amorim, Van Nistelrooy departed the club. He finished his tenure as interim manager with three wins and one draw in four matches and is set to become Leicester City’s manager.
