Potential Ghana Black Stars Coach, Chris Hughton Spotted With Hudson-Odoi’s Father In Accra

The potential Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton seems to start working already as he was spotted in Ghana talking to Hudson-Odoi’s father.

Chris Hughton is preferred by many Ghanaians to lead the Black Stars to the World cup qualifies and also be the head coach for the senior national team. After Milovan was sacked by the FA, there have been so many suggestions on who to be the next Black Stars coach but Chris Hughton’s name is now dominating the conversations.

He has been spotted already in Accra as he was seen sitting with Callum Hudson-Odoi’s father at the Larbiadi beach hotel.

Many are saying he met Callum Hudson-Odoi’s father to just convince the Chelsea star to play for Ghana.

According to an exclusive Citi Sports news, Chris Hughton arrived in the Republic of Ghana last Friday and it appears the former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United boss has already shifted into gear as he tries to lure the many foreign players of Ghanaian descent to play for the Black Stars.

The report also made it clear that the biggest attraction of Hughton, whose father is fully a Ghanaian is believed to be his ability to lure Ghanaian players born abroad to represent the Black Stars with Hudson-Odoi and Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey the biggest prospects.

In terms of managerial pedigree, Chris Hughton has spent over 20 years in this business, leading two clubs, Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion to promotion to the Premier League.

His last job was at Championship side Nottingham Forest where he led them to safety in the 2020/2021 season before leaving in September 2021 at the start of the 2021/2022 Championship season.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager landed in Ghana recently to be interviewed for the Black Stars head coach role.
