Pep Guardiola opens up on the club’s plans and player signings
Manchester City and Pep Guardiola have been very quiet in the transfer market despite securing the signature of Brazilian winger Savinho.
The Cityzens are well know for their spending spree in the transfer market and their ability to attract top players and young talents as well.
Pep Guardiola on City plans: “Until the last day, we have chances to change the squad, I don’t rule it out the option to have new players but if anyone leaves…”.
“I think 85/90/95% we will have the same squad”,
Speaking about youth players, Pep Guardiola also expressed his desire to keep young James McAtee at the club for this season and beyond. He also went ahead to shower praises on the young Englishman stating that he has a huge potential.
“I’d love to have James McAtee and to keep him next season”.
“He’s special guy to play in small spaces, in the pockets, we don’t have many”.
“I’ve a high, high opinion of McAtee and I also know his huge potential”.
Pep also saif he would love to see Rodrigo win the Balloon d’or as he started that his consistency is admirable and brutal. “I can’t deny how happy I would be if Rodri could get the Ballon d’Or”.
“His consistency is just brutal”.
“Being in the race, being nominated, or winning the Ballon d’Or is fantastic!”.
After several rumours linking Kevin de Bruyne to the Saudi Pro League over the summer, Man City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Kevin de Bruyne will not be leaving the club.
“No, Kevin is NOT leaving”, Pep said.
Speaking on the signing of Savinho, Guardiola said: “His one-against-one is devastating!”.
“He can play on both sides, left-winger, right-winger, can even play in the middle. But we need [him] more especially on the wing”.
“We’ve to say thanks to Girona, they did excellent job”.
Manchester City will kick start their season with a Community Shield final match against City rivals Manchester United on August 10th 2024 at the Wembley Stadium.
