On August 15, 2024, the 47-year-old actress Nana Ama McBrown of Ghana will sponsor the release of 47 prisoners in honor of her birthday.
The effort is being overseen by the Crime Check Foundation, whose CEO, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, disclosed this. Mr. Oppong Kwarteng praised Nana Ama McBrown‘s kindness in a video that has gone viral.
“Nana Ama McBrown will turn 47 on August 15, and she will be funding the release of 47 prison inmates. I know whoever is watching this will be impressed and will say a prayer for her”, he said.
During the video, Mr. Oppong Kwarteng was seen with inmates at the Akuse Prison, one of the facilities set to benefit from McBrown’s initiative.
“The Bible says we should draw near to the prisoners, be a source of encouragement to them, and share the good news, because being in prison is not a joke,” he said, underscoring the need to help prisoners.
When Nana Ama announced her support for the Crime Check Foundation during an appearance on the “McBrown Kitchen” show in February 2024, her relationship with the organization was cemented earlier this year.
She was moved by the foundation’s work and promised to support them. Under Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng’s direction, the Crime Check Foundation is renowned for its all-encompassing approach to prisoner support, which includes offering chances for education, assisting with legal matters, and offering emotional support to help inmates reintegrate into society.
