There is great anticipation for who wears the crown of Miss Western Ghana 2024, the pageant house has officially announced their 2024 finalists. This year’s contestants have shown great maturity and intelligence throughout their 13 weeks of receiving grooming and performances.
This year’s Miss Western Ghana featured 15 beautiful Ladies from various regions in Ghana, the journey wasn’t easy for them but only 7 made it to the grand finale, and eventually one of them will be crowned.
Each of these finalists we are introducing in this article has over the 13 weeks of performances entertained Ghanaians with their unique stories, powerful presences, and confidence. Now let’s dive into their backgrounds and get to know where each of them is representing.
Miss Western Ghana 2024 Finalists.
1. SELINA
Meet Selina Akuba Mensah, a graduate of the University of Energy and Natural Resources with a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness. She is proudly representing the Western Region, specifically Samreboi in the Wassa Amenfi West Constituency in this year’s Miss Western Ghana Beauty Pageant. It has always been her dream to give back to her community by addressing drug abuse and improving career guidance.
2. ADEPA
Meet Miss Adepa, a graduate of Holy Child College of Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education. She is currently a service personnel at Roman Catholic M/A Basic School and a Head Mistress of Western Happy Home Academy.
Adepa is a young promising and ambitious lady who aims to work hard to achieve her golden mark. She is representing the Western Region precisely Agona Nkwanta in this year’s Miss Western Ghana. Her motive for joining this pageantry is to be able to impact lives, especially in my community, region, and the country at large and to become the best version of myself.
To be crowned as the queen of this year’s Miss Western Ghana, work earnestly with the entire team, and carry her project, which is PROVIDING HAND SKILLS TRAINING FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS are my biggest expectations in life.
3. EMPRESS
Meet Miss Empress Rebecca Arthur, popularly known as Empress Gh. She is an optimistic 26-year Media and Communication Student at Takoradi Technical University.
Empress joined Miss Western Ghana 2024 as a channel to bring out the vision she has for rural communities to boost entrepreneurship and uplift our region. Empress decided to join Miss Western Ghana as a way of challenging herself to perform under the spotlight to shape and boost her public speaking to be the voice of those who can’t be heard.
So far so good, with God and support she has made it to the finale.
4. SEYRAM
Miss Darkey Seyram Antoinette is 22 years of age, she is the second child of her parents with 8 siblings. She had her basic education at Nii Amui Memorial School where she also had her BECE certificate. She later went to Akwamuman Senior High School but got transferred to Sokode Sec Tech in the Volta region of Ghana where she had her Wassce certificate.
Seyram had to stay home for two years just to make way for her other siblings to get the opportunity to go to college but with the help of her mother and stepfather, Seyram is now studying Hospitality Management at Takoradi Technical University.
She is currently in her final year and also representing the Volta region of Ghana (Battor to be precise) in this year’s Miss Western Ghana. Her motive for joining the pageant is to motivate the young girls in her neighborhood to dream more than she did and achieve more to make Ashaiman and Battor a better place because she believes that as long as you can dream you can achieve it.
5. GENEVIVE
Meet (Miss) Genevieve Enyin Mensah, who proudly represents Mankessim in the Central Region. She was born on August 26th, 1998, in Mankessim. She is the second-born in a family of 11. Her late father, Christopher Enyin Mensah, was a lotto staker, and her mother, Mary Arthur, is a dedicated seamstress.
She attended Closefields Preparatory School, and Mankessim Senior High Technical School, she also earned a Bachelor of Education in Visual Arts from Komenda College of Education.
Genevive finds joy in dancing and has a singing talent. She is very fluent in Twi and English, and her Christian faith guides her in all aspects of life. Currently, she is a National Service Personnel, teaching at Agona Nyakrom MA Basic School, where she is passionate about shaping young minds.
Genevive has proudly competed in several pageants: Komenco Miss Akwaaba 2019/2020 (Winner), Miss Western 2020, Face of Wec/Sec 2021 (2nd Runner Up), Miss Central Ghana 2022, and Miss Mankessim 2022 (Winner).
Her motto is: “Life is a journey, and so we need not race with others.” This philosophy keeps her grounded and focused on her unique path.
She is dedicated to community service and served as a CAMFED Learner Guide in 2016, supporting girls’ education. Proud of her Fante heritage, she cherishes her personal space and values deep connections with others.
6. MELANIE
(Miss) Melanie Augustine is a 22-year-old passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and community development. Born and raised in Takoradi, she has overcome significant personal challenges, including financial struggles and the loss of family members. Despite these hardships, Melanie has emerged as a resilient and determined individual dedicated to making a positive impact in her community. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism and is a multi-talented individual: an actress, artist entrepreneur, fashion model, and activist. She runs her own foundation (The Melca Foundation) aimed at helping women and children, promoting the idea that every woman is a queen: confident, capable and celebrated.
Motive for Joining Miss Western Ghana:
Melanie’s primary motive for joining Miss Western Ghana is to amplify her advocacy for women’s rights and empowerment. She believes that the platform will provide her with the visibility and influence needed to inspire other young women to pursue their dreams and overcome their challenges. Melanie wants to use this opportunity to prove to herself and others that she believes in her abilities and is ready to take on greater responsibilities.
Expectations:
Melanie expects to leverage the Miss Western Ghana title to launch a series of initiatives aimed at empowering women through education, vocational training, and community engagement. She looks forward to organizing seminars, workshops, and support programs that address critical issues such as financial literacy, domestic violence, and women’s health. Melanie hopes to build a strong network of like-minded individuals and organizations to collaborate on projects that uplift and empower women in the Western Region and beyond. She also aims to be a role model for young girls, showing them that with resilience and determination, they can achieve their dreams despite any obstacles they may face.
7. ABA SUZZIE
Meet Miss Susana Acquah, an ideal woman of 22 years of age. She is representing the Western Region, Shama-Aboadze precisely. Her motive is to explore the rich culture of her region and community and to be a role model the young ones would look up to. She is looking forward to winning the contest and helping the youth of the Shama district acquire some hand skills training.
