ECG Releases New Dumsor Timetable for Accra and Ashanti Regions
As part of routine maintenance works, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a number of areas that would lose power today, Monday, July 11, 2025.
The exercise will cover portions of the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions with the Ashanti Region taking center stage in the notice.
ECG has scheduled the power cut as a requirement to enable maintenance crews to conduct essential upgrades on electric facilities.
According to the company, this is done to enhance reliable power supply within the areas affected.
The outage will take place in the Greater Accra Region between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm affecting the residents of Glefe, Wiaboman and others around.
But the Ashanti Region will be more hit. Between 8:00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., a number of towns and villages will experience a power outage. These affected areas include:
Atwima Agogo, Mfensi, Mankranso, Kunsu, Sepaase, Nkawie, Mpasaetia, Abuakwa, Abakomade
Kasapreko, Asonomaso, Pokukrom, section of Tanoso, Manhyia, Koforidua, Tabre, Ntensere, Afari
Seidi, Nerebehi, Hiawu-Besease, Boatenkrom, Bonkwaso, Asempanaye, Asakraka, Kontomire, and other closely located communities.

Through a small statement, ECG has expressed its regret over the inconvenience that outage would cause and requested the residents within the areas that were affected by the outage to make arrangements.

We are aware of the effects of these disruptions and this is required to ensure reliability and safety of systems. The statement read, We understand the patience and cooperation of our customers.
With the news reaching people, several Ghanaians have gone to the social networks to lament particularly Ghanaians in Ashanti where the list of the areas to be affected is long.
Citizens are demanding ECG to offer alternative sources of power or faster maintenance schedule.
Still reeling under the effects of the past incidences of dumsor this pronouncement has sparked off a fresh flame of fear in the country over the stability of power and the issues ongoing at ECG.
