Lasmid Biography
Lasmid Nathaniel Owusu, better known by his stage names Lasmid or Charger, is a Ghanaian singer, rapper, and composer who is originally from Takoradi in Ghana’s Western Region.
He became well-known after releasing a version of his song, “Sika,” featuring Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene. He won the eighth season of MTN Hitmaker in 2019, and he is presently signed to Highly Spiritual Music.
Lasmid won the MTN Hitmaker season 8 competition on December 14, 2019, taking home a black Anibisa headset from MTN Pulse and a recording contract worth GH120,000. Following the contest, Ghanaian musical producer Kaywa recruited him to his company, Highly Spiritual Music.
A remix of his song Sika, featuring Ghanaian afrobeat musician Kuami Eugene, was released by him in 2022. He became well-known in Ghana when his remix, which was popular on TikTok, topped the charts.

His Career
In 2019, Lasmid won the MTN Hitmaker season 8 competition, for which he received a GH₵120,000 recording contract. Following the contest, Ghanaian music producer Kaywa signed him to his record label, Highly Spiritual Music. In 2022, Nigerian singer Naira Marley expressed interest in signing Lasmid to his label.
