He is one of the younger male musicians in Ghana to see success, the rockstar rose to notoriety with the stage name, Kuami Eugene subsequent to delivering his participation in the 2016 MTN Hitmaker season 5 competition, where he picked the third position.

Kuami Eugene or the rockstar was born to Alex and Juliana Marfo in Oda, Ghana. He sadly dropped out of school because of his love for music and spent more than two months studying music in a studio located in Eastern Region without informing the school authority and his mother.

He was later expelled from school after it was discovered that he had skipped school. His interest in music led him to sing in the church from a very young age where he also learned how to play the drum, keyboard, and guitar.
