An illegal miner has made an emotional plea to the government to provide him with some machines for his profession.
In a video, the illegal miner stated that rains had flooded his mining site, disrupting operations and ruining critical working instruments.
As a result, he requested that the government dispatch machinery to drain the water from the galamsey site as soon as possible.
The young man’s plea comes as Ghanaians have voiced displeasure over rampant illegal mining in the country. Many Ghanaians have called on the current administration to take stringent measures to ensure the end of the menace.
However, galamseyers seem unperturbed about the impact of their activities or how Ghanaians feel about illegal mining from videos emanating from their camps.
