Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan claims that Players that come after qualifiers come for only for bonuses.
Ghana after qualifying for the 2022 world cup in Qatar has been after players like Hudson Odoi, Mohammed Salisu, Edddie Nketsiah, Tariq Lamptey and Inaki Williams to switch nationality and play for Ghana at the world cup.
Ghana have been drawn in group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in this year’s world cup.
Ghana’s all time top scorer Asamoah Gyan claims that Players that comes after qualifiers only come in for bonuses.
“No player would like to be [left out], especially having played all the games. When these players come, they don’t even play one game. They just sit on the bench, get their bonuses and go, they don’t compete,” he claimed.
“If they bring these players, they have to show us something, they have to prove to people that they deserve to get into the team, that’s all I want. We all want the national team to be better.”
Ghana are paired in Group E of African Cup of Nations 2023 qualifiers together with Madagascar, Central Africa Republic and Angola.
