American Actress Gabrielle Union And Family Honoured With Ghanaian Names

Outstanding female American actress and global movie star, Gabrielle Union, with her husband, Dwyane Wade, who’s a retired NBA player, were bestowed with local names upon their arrival in Ghana’s capital, Accra, on Monday, 31 October, 2022.

The beautifully married pair, not only landed in Ghana alone, but they also came with their charming 3-year-old daughter, Kaavia James.

The family went to the enstoolment function of Diallo Sumbry as Nkosuohene (Chief of Development) of Nyame Bekyere, where they were bestowed with Ghanaian names.

Gabrielle was endowed with the name Akosua Safo, whiles her husband Dwyane, was additionally given the name Kwesi Safo, on the grounds that they were both conceived on Sunday. Their lovely 3-year-old daughter, was also duly named Nana Akua.

Diallo Sumbry, happens to be the very first African American Tourism Ambassador of Ghana.

The famously celebrated couple, along with their daughter, were embellished in rich Ghanaian kente garments when they graced the function grounds.

This occasional visitation, registers as the family’s very first visit, embarked in the West African country, as a feature of Gabrielle’s African tour experience, to commemorate her 50th birthday celebration.

Gabrielle, Dwayne and Kaavia’s visit to Ghana, was complemented with a remarkably staggering welcome experience at the Kotoka International Airport.

They were welcomed with a vivacious presentation of cultural choreography, from a customary set of indigenous dancers.

The Chief Executive of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyemang, in showing an intensely generous extent of honor, greeted them by decorating them with
sashes, as a signifying demonstration of appreciation for their effort and initiative.
