Ghanaian tourism ambassador Afua Asantewaa has revealed plans for a second Guinness World Record sing-a-thon attempt, scheduled to take place in Kumasi this December.
The announcement comes less than a year after her previous attempt in December 2023, which ended in disqualification despite a five-day performance.
Speaking during an interview with Tony Best on Akoma FM’s mid-morning show, Asantewaa confirmed she has received approval from Guinness World Records for the new attempt.
In a recent interview on Akoma FM’s mid-morning show with Tony Best, Afua shared exciting news about her upcoming event.
“I can tell you on your show that, God willing, I will be hosting another singathon but this time l’m planning to do it in Kumasi,” she stated.
She also mentioned that her team is currently evaluating potential locations within the city to maximize community engagement and enhance her role as a tourism ambassador.
Afua expressed her determination to succeed, stating that her past disqualification would not hinder her aspirations to achieve a Guinness World Record.
“The fact that I was not successful in my first attempt shouldn’t stop me from pursuing this goal,” she remarked.
The current record for the longest individual singing performance is held by Sunil Waghmare from India.
