During a meeting, a video showing Asamoah Gyan almost hitting Sammy Awuku, the National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has gone viral.
Rumors claim that Sammy Awuku and his brother-in-law in the video are sitting on $3 million that Asamoah Gyan allegedly gave him for the Bawumia campaign.
According to reports, Gyan almost smacked the person during the altercation.
Even though the incident’s specifics are yet unknown, Asamoah Gyan has renounced his NPP membership in order to devote more of his time to humanitarian efforts.
Ghana’s record goalscorer said in a statement that he has not been fair to the country’s youth by being associated with a political party on his social media handle on X, formerly Twitter.
And he will now be stepping away from politics in order to concentrate on independently supporting the Asamoah Gyan Foundation’s efforts to empower Ghana’s young.
