Isaac Aboagye Mensah, a former employee of Savings and Loans at Adum-Kumasi, is reported to have died in Ukraine after leaving his banking position to enlist in the Russian army.
According to the information, Mr. Isaac left for Qatar for the 2022 World Cup and returned afterward. After that, he went to Russia and told his family that he and some of his Ghanaian coworkers had decided to enlist in the Russian army.
Since then, he communicated with his family via WhatsApp until they stopped hearing from him.
Mr. Isaac’s family was later told by a Ghanaian colleague in the same unit that he had been buried and that he had passed away on the battlefield from shock after seeing the misery of war victims.
The family has not heard from Mr. Isaac in the last seven months, and since they have not seen his remains, they are not persuaded that he has passed away.
They are currently pursuing support from the relevant authorities in order to verify the information provided by his coworkers.
