As scheduled, it was expected that the Electoral Commission of Ghana will hold a special voting on 2nd December, 2024, a Monday before the general elections is conducted on 7th December same month.
The special voting allows individual who will not be able to make it to their polling station due to election duties. These usually include the Police, Fire service, Polling officers, the media, Prisons service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority and the permanent staff of the Electoral Commission.
As reported, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Jean Mensah has stated that all is set for the special voting for the 2024 elections.
She made this during an interaction with the National Security Task Force which is headed by Dr. George Akufo-Dampare, the Inspector General of Police.
