Mohammed Salisu of Southampton finally accepts to play for Ghana

Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu who in recent times has declined callups from a lot of Black Stars coaches has finally decided to play for the black stars.

Salisu declined call ups from Coaches like C.K Akonnor, Milovan Rajivac and also Otto Addo.

After a couple if attempts from the GFA and some Ghanaian football gurus to get the Southampton defender to play for the Stars, he finally gives in to the call.

A look at Mohammed Salisu’s stats in the 2021/22 Premier League:

• 40.7% successful pressures (1st in league)
• 196 clearances (3rd)
• 93 interceptions (4th)
• 60 tackles won (5th)

Ghana has one of the best young defenders in the Premier League now at their disposal.
