Algeria loses talented midfielder Bilal Benhamouda in a car accident

Algerian national team player Bilal Benhamouda has died in a car crash after playing and scoring in a friendly game against the DR Congo last night in Algiers.

Bilal Benhamouda, who was on the score sheet for Algeria as they played against DR Congo, has sadly lost his life in a car accident.

The 24 year old USM Algers midfielder made 30 appearances for his club, scoring 7 goals and assisting 4 times in the just ended season.

His national team coach had this to say concerning his death.

Bougherra: “I feel sad, we are sad, but I feel so honoured to have known Bilal [Benhamouda]. Leaving on a Friday is a blessed day of us Muslims. We are so proud to have selected you.”

Algeria will try to win CHAN 2023 in memory of Benhamouda next January.
