South African Football Team Banned After Scoring 59 Goals In One Match

A South African football team has been banned from their normal football duties for doing the unthinkable.

This team actually scored a whopping 59 goals in one match raising eyebrows. The team is reportedly based in Limpopo ad the name of the team is Matiyasi FC.

They played the match with Nsami Mighty Birds and at the end of the match, they scored 59 while the opponent scored 1. Per what we gathered, this happened while seeking promotion to the Provincial ABC Motsepe League.

41 of the goals scored were own-goals and the astonishing thing is that a player who was given a red card in the first half was still available in the second half to add his name to the scoresheet.

The report, according to FarPost.co.za, indicated that SAFA’s regional office in Limpopo summoned both clubs to a Disciplinary Committee hearing on 25 May 2022 in Giyani.

Both teams were charged and found guilty of corruption and contravening the association’s statutes and they have been permanently banned from all football activities while the officials implicated in both clubs have also been given a five-year suspension within the region.
